Genetic Tests
Genetic testing plays a fundamental role in reproductive medicine, allowing personalised diagnosis, treatment planning and the prevention of hereditary diseases.
At INICIO FERTILITY, we offer a comprehensive range of advanced genetic tests to improve reproductive outcomes and provide greater confidence throughout the fertility journey.
Preconception Test: Carrier Screening
This advanced genetic test uses whole genome sequencing to analyse the genes responsible for hereditary diseases.
It is indicated for couples planning to have children, allowing them to know their risk of transmitting these conditions and make informed decisions about their family planning.
All the oocyte and sperm donors go through this test to provide greater security for patients using donated gametes.
Sperm Tests
A comprehensive and personalised approach to genetic assessment of the sperm genetic status, which helps improve treatment results in cases of idiopathic infertility, male factor infertility, repeated failed IVF cycles, etc.
Endometrial Tests
Genetic assessment of the functional and receptive status of endometrium is crucial in the field of reproductive genetics for the improvement of the infertility treatment results.

Preimplantation Genetic Testing (PGT-A, PGT-M)
PGT-A is a genetic test performed on embryos obtained through in vitro fertilisation to detect chromosomal abnormalities (aneuploidies), selecting only chromosomally normal embryos for transfer.
Aneuploid embryos have an abnormal number of chromosomes, which is associated with a higher risk of implantation failure, miscarriage, or the birth of children with chromosomal abnormalities.
PGT-A significantly increases implantation and clinical pregnancy rates per transfer, while drastically reducing the risk of a miscarriage.
By comprehensively analysing the embryonic chromosome complement, it allows for the selection of only healthy embryos for transfer.
This technology represents a crucial advance for patients of advanced maternal age or with an adverse reproductive history.
Prenatal and Postnatal Genetic Testing
Methods of the prenatal and postnatal diagnostics allow for the identification of genetic or chromosomal abnormalities at key stages, whether during pregnancy or after birth.
This provides essential information for making informed medical decisions and appropriately managing genetic health.
